Diploma programMassage therapy uses manual techniques on the soft tissue structures of the body to prevent and alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle spasm and stress, and to promote health and wellness.
(The program)
The Massage Therapy program provides entry-level theory and hands-on clinical training in massage techniques and alternative therapies that help maintain and promote physical health and well-being. Students learn to provide hands-on care to relieve soft tissue pain and massage techniques that assist in relaxation, and become well-versed in wellness, medical ethics, trigger points of the body and business management for the massage therapist.
The program is designed for entry-level work in a health care setting, a spa environment or as an independent practitioner. It prepares students to meet the educational requirements of the Florida Department of Health, Board of Massage Therapy, and follows the curriculum outlines of the Florida Department of Education.
All theory and exam hours are online. The clinical practicum is completed on campus.
