Program overview

The 40-hour Home Health Aide program is designed for individuals who have completed a California Nurse Assistant Certificate course. It prepares you to care for people who are disabled, chronically ill, cognitively impaired, or older adults — so they can remain in their own homes or residential facilities rather than institutions.

The program is split evenly between 20 hours of classroom instruction and 20 hours of clinical time. Certification is granted by the California Department of Public Health, Aide and Technician Certification Section (ATCS).
