Our comprehensive 80-hour Phlebotomy Technician program equips you with the knowledge and practical skills to excel in phlebotomy — 40 hours of didactic instruction and 40 hours of practical clinical training.
The program meets the educational eligibility criteria to become a California phlebotomist, combining rigorous instruction with real-world clinical exposure to diverse patient populations.
What you'll be able to do
Develop proficiency in venipuncture and capillary-puncture techniques for accurate specimen collection.
Understand the anatomy and physiology relevant to phlebotomy, including vascular structures and the circulatory system.
Apply industry-standard infection control and safety protocols to minimize exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and easing anxieties around blood collection.
Apply theory in a real clinical setting during practical training across varied healthcare environments.
Understand the legal and ethical aspects of phlebotomy, including confidentiality, consent, and California requirements.
On completion, students fulfill the educational eligibility requirements for California phlebotomist licensure and are prepared to work as skilled, ethical phlebotomy technicians. Admission requires a high-school diploma/equivalent or an equivalent qualifying pathway.
